In the endeavor of the Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ministry, and executing of Engineer Tarek El Molla Minister of Petroleum directions and continuing to what the high management of Western Desert Operating Petroleum Company “WEPCO” has started yesterday to reinforce the safety and health culture to save lives and the properties of the sector’s companies and preparing to celebrate the Safety and Health International Day on the 5th of December of each year to reinforce the importance of the notion of precautions from accidents and illnesses and to reduce injuries and work accidents.
Engineer Ibrahim Massoud Chairman and Managing Director went on the second day to “Badr-1” field to participate in the event of the Safety and Health International day Safety Walk Down.
The second day of the Safety Walk Down event started with a word from Engineer Ibrahim Massoud to the employees and the contractors on Badr-1 field expressing the necessity of following the safety standards and making the safety and the health of the employees a top priority at work as well as making the employees aware of the Life Saving Rules.
He has also emphasized on the goal of QHSE which is to reach a safe working environment completely void of dangers and hazards so that there would “zero” injuries and “zero” accidents guaranteeing a suitable working environment.
Chemist Mohamed Hassan General Manager of Safety, Health and Environment protection emphasized on the necessity of planting the seed of a model example of a safety rules following behavior in the employees and their management and making the safety standards everyone’s responsibility and not just as a slogan but in implementation as well in all work fields.
Also the Safety and Health and Environment Protection Department at “Badr-1” site has held awareness conferences and presented videos of accidents and the learnt lessons from them during the “Safety Walk-Down” event.
And Engineer Ibrahim Massoud made sure during the event to check the main production facility and the new exploration well bed 4-6 after adding it to the production line and the auger EDC of the exploration well bed 8-9 as well as the maintenance auger and working over of the well bed 1-24.
At the end of the second of the event of the Safety Walk Down, Engineer Ibrahim Massoud Chairman and Directing Manager emphasized that the Western Desert Operating Petroleum Company “WEPCO” is always keen on increasing the awareness of its employees and developing their capabilities and their performance through training on the safety and health requirements since the safety, health, and environment protection are the main factors contributing in the national economic growth.
The Chairman was accompanied by the Geologist Mohamed Darahem General Manager of Exploration and Member of the Directing Board, the Chemist Mohamed Hassan General Manager of Safety and Health, Chairman Assistant M/Mohamed Fathy, Engineer El Sayed Sobhy General Manager of Western Desert Regions, M/Hossam El Din Moustafa President of the Syndicate Committee, Brigadier General Hatem Rashed General Manager of Security, Engineer Hamdy Khamis General Manager of “Badr-1” site, and an entourage of General Managers and General Managers Assistant on “Badr-1” Site.
